Make sure your car's ready for the summer by following these tips!

Monday, July 19, 2010

Summer Driving Checklist
Lights: Test and replace the burned out bulbs on your vehicles as needed. It is absolutely necessary to have headlights aimed properly as well to ensure maximum visibility while driving at nights. Replace the headlight bulbs in pars, and keep the plastic housing clear. Visibility is easily one of the most important factors for safe night driving.

Windshield and Wipers: Make sure that summer blades are installed. An aerodynamic summer wiper does a much better job in hotter temperatures. Also, think about applying RainX in order keep visibility up in rainy conditions.

Rain: Be careful while driving in the rain. It is important to remember that roads are most slick just when the rain begins to fall because oil mixes with water on the roads surface and causes a traction loss. Also, remember to leave plenty of room between the car ahead of you and your own car. On average, it takes twice the amount of time to stop a car in the rain than the amount of time needed to stop on a dry surface.
Visit your mechanic: Getting a quick overview from a mechanic can help stop those unwanted problems from occurring right in the middle of your families’ vacation.

Tires: Make sure you are using the correct tires for the warm weather season. Also, replace your tires if they are worn before the trip.

All these things listed above will help you have a safe and more enjoyable vacation. And if your current car is no longer satisfactory, there are great offers going on at Boca Raton used car dealerships. West Palm Beach used cars are excellent options for families who need an upgrade before heading out on their next vacation.

The summer road trip season is in full swing and with it comes a full set of new difficulties for drivers to overcome. In order to be fully prepared for your families’ next road trip you should take a look at the list below. Featured are some simple tips to insure that your next family trip is a safe one.

New Chrysler smartphone apps can help you have a better driving experience

Friday, July 16, 2010

One of the last things drivers want to do while on a relaxing vacation in the Sunshine State is to break down and get stranded somewhere, even in a pleasant town like Boca Raton. 2011 Dodge owners, and drivers of the Chrysler family of cars, however, just might be able to avoid such a fate thanks to some nifty new apps. With the application of smartphone technology to the automobile sector, Chrysler and its aftermarket division, Mopar, are creating a host of free apps that are designed to accommodate and enhance the driving experience. Among the helpful functions offered are warning light interpretation, service control details, warranty information, and customer assistance. Now the only stranded drivers should be the purposefully stranded ones.

The launch of these apps by Chrysler and Mopar coincided with the release of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. They were first made available at the iStore for the iPhone, with Blackberry and Android availability to follow. They’re a nice feature for car owners, but the apps were also created with potential buyers in mind, as well. They are available to everybody, so anyone can check out Chrysler products and get more information on them. Pretty cool what technology can do for new cars these days. Used cars in West Palm Beach or anywhere else in the Sunshine State certainly don’t come packaged with any high tech features like this.

But what would these apps be in this day and age without some sort of link to everyone’s favorite: the social media universe. Despite (or perhaps because of) driving being a seemingly solitary activity, car owners have always identified with their brands and seen themselves as part of a larger community of drivers who, in some ways, take on the personality of their cars, or vice versa. So, along with the immediate product assistance and driving enhancements, the suite of apps offered by Chrysler will also be able to connect users to fan communities in the stalwarts of social media, like Facebook (e.g., the Boca Raton 2011 Dodge Ram Fan Group, the West Palm Beach Used Cars Group – okay, maybe not this one), Twitter, YouTube. All those beautiful photos you’ve snapped of your new Chrysler and the artful videos shot can be posted for adoring fans of these autos to see. Exactly what the intrepid technology pioneers had in mind.

The 2010 Dodge Ram 2500: This truck was made for working

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

The new 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 is a beast; this piece of machinery was built for the working man. With several new upgrades to the 2010 Ram 2500, sold at Boca Raton used car dealers, it’s clear that the Ram brand is sticking it to the competition in the full-size pickup truck segment.

The Ram 2500’s tow rating has been boosted by 2,000 pounds up to 22,000 pounds total. Other special additions to the 2500 include optional power folding tow mirrors, three new color variations, a standard EVIC, standard tire pressure monitoring, and standard trailer brake control.

The Ram 2500, sold at your local Boca Raton 2011 Jeep dealers, comes in several options for axel and wheel power, including a crew cab, single-rear-wheel or dual-rear-wheel and for axles they have the 4 cab axle or 2 cab axel lengths that can be paired up with any three trim levels.

Standard in the Dodge Ram 2500 are four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, side curtain airbags, and electronic stability programs. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Ram a Good overall score in the frontal crash test and a 5 star frontal crash test rating from the NHTSA.

In 2010, the Ram 2500 was Motor Trend’s 2010 Truck of the Year and with upgrades to each trim level, the ST, SLT, Laramie, Outdoorsman, and Power Wagon, you can expect only a stronger more well equipped vehicle than last year.

The suspension has been re-tuned to make handling under a full load easier and the gross vehicle weight rating has increased to 9,600 pounds which is 600 pounds more than last year.

With a sticker price of $32,360, the Dodge Ram 2500 is not too pricey in comparison to other competition. Under the hood sits a 5.7 liter HEMI V8 that pumps out 393 horsepower at 5,600 rpm/400 pounds per feet at 4,000 rpm. It comes standard with a five speed automatic with manul mode and has a wheel base of 140 inches. It boasts a cargo volume of 2,960 pounds and a payload of 9,000 pounds.

All things considered this truck is built to last, built for optimal function and will get the job done.

Great deals that won't last past June

Monday, June 14, 2010

The Northlake Chysler Jeep and Dodge dealership has been offering excellent new car deals all spring. Although, it is expected that June may be the last month to cash in on these great deals. Right now, Northlake CJD is offering 0% PR financing on many models and up to 3000 dollars in cash rebates.

"The analysts at Edmunds report that incentives are shrinking across the board. Why? Car makers have gotten better at managing their inventories. Having fewer cars to sell means that they're under less pressure to deal -- even as they prepare to try and clear their lots in advance of new 2011 models coming this summer." These smaller inventories are good for the automakers, but not as swell for buyers. Some automakers have seen stronger sales, and strong sales plus smaller inventories lead to less incentives for buyers. Therefore now is the time to buy a new Chrysler Jeep or Dodge from Northlake CJD because you can not miss out on these extraordinary deals. These deals are not going to be going on much longer.

One of the hot cars i the Boca Raton 2011 Jeep. The Jeeps for 2011 are still the same midsize utility vehicle with two sets of seats and two available engines but where the changes for this years model regard refinement. The Jeeps feature all new chassis and a fully independent suspension. Also, the Jeep still has very viable off-road capabillities. The 2011 Jeep is arriving just in time for all your off-road driving needs for the summer of 2010.

Also available are many great used cars at the boca raton used car dealerships. Buyers can expect the same quality in used cars that they have come to expect from all of the new cars at Northlake CJD. There are many great values among the used cars currently on Northlake CJD's pre-owned lot. A pre-owned vehicle could solve many people's vehicle needs for the summer of 2010 or for their families looking forward. Keep an eye out for newer pre-owned models now that automakers are looking to release their 2011 lines.

Vintage Chrysler Imperials to appear in "The Green Hornet"

Sunday, June 13, 2010

Twenty-nine vintage Chrysler Imperials have been cast to the silver screen for the upcoming movie, "The Green Hornet," due out in January and starring Seth Rogen. The vehicles were modified to portray Black Beauty, the superhero's luxurious supercar (so now you know if you want to drive like a superhero, just stop by your Boca Raton Chrysler dealership!).

You'd think (especially after Avatar) that CGI would replace the need for any tangible props, but the demand for movie cars, in particular cars modified to safely perform specialized stunts or to create specific shots, is increasing (next big Hollywood job: "Picture car coordinator").

Dennis McCarthy is the man for that job. From the script, he'll recommend a few cars that would work best for the scenario at hand. He must also decide how many copies of each vehicle will be necessary for the production and how each copy must be modified to perform its particular task. He also coordinates with the special effects, camera and other production departments, on top of creating a budget that can easily run into millions of dollars.

For big projects like “The Green Hornet,” McCarthy starts hiring his staff and acquiring cars months before filming begins. “We buy a lot of them sight unseen, because we don’t care,” he added. “It can be a rotted-out piece of junk and we’ll fill it with Bondo and spray some paint on it, and, you know, wreck it within three hours of its completion time.”

Such an incident occurred on the set of "The Green Hornet": “At some point, the director said, ‘I got this great idea! I want them to blow the door off the car!’ Well, at that point we had already built all the stunt cars with race seats, roll cages and tinted glass to hide them. So we had to pull the race buckets out, cut the door bars out, put dashboards back in them with all these monitors and all these lights. Then, to make matters worse, they wanted an in-car camera shot of that stunt car and we only have so many working monitors. That was a bad one.” There's definitely something to be said for the ability to re-engineer vehicles on the fly! There just might be a job in movies waiting for you.

And for a car you won't want to blow up, stop on by your Chrysler Boca Raton. Trust us, you'll still feel like a movie star.
